Variable Data Printing

« Back to Glossary Index

Variable data printing (VDP) is a digital print method that changes text, images, graphics, or other parts from one item to the next. It uses data from a file or database. VDP shifts from mass copies to mass custom work. Each flyer shows a unique name, address, offer, or photo. Software blends set templates with live data. This adds barcodes, QR codes, or custom notes. VDP lifts marketing reply rates and saves time over manual changes. It needs digital presses and tools like PDF/VT for speed.
